The National Urban Education Center, a 3-year-old training center for progressive education administrators, is one of the country’s best-kept secrets in professional development for education leaders. The center has engaged Red Deluxe Brand Development to change that.
The center was founded by Memphis City Schools to provide leadership training for district employees working to advance into administrative positions. As the district emerged as one of the national leaders in urban education reform (MCS’ reform agenda earned a $90 million commitment from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2009), educators from across the South began enrolling at the center to learn about the Gates-funded teacher effectiveness strategies and other urban district best practices. The Urban Education Center added “national” to its name in 2011.
Today, attendees from all over the country attend the National Urban Education Center’s programs, most notably its flagship three-day event, the Forum for Innovative Leadership.
Red Deluxe has already launched a national campaign that is driving record enrollment at the Forum, and is at work on a broad and comprehensive ongoing web presence for the center.
